Bonding Period

Some EarnPark strategies use a bonding period – a fixed time delay between your withdrawal request and the moment funds actually leave the strategy.

What is a bonding period and why we use it

A bonding period is the time your funds stay locked in the strategy after you request a withdrawal. The lock duration is set at the strategy level and is shown in the strategy details before you invest.

We use bonding periods on strategies where the underlying positions can't be unwound instantly without affecting yield for the rest of the pool.
Some strategies need time to exit positions in an orderly way.
A bonding period allows for a predictable window to close out positions at fair prices, which protects the APY for everyone in the strategy.

How it works

Strategy details show the bonding terms.

Before you deposit, the strategy page lists the bonding terms together with APY, risk level, and payout frequency:

  • Withdraw Term: how long funds are locked after a withdrawal request (e.g. 3/7 days bonding)

  • Cancellation Window — how long after the request you can still cancel it (e.g. 24 hours)

  • Yield During Lock — whether rewards continue to accrue during the bonding period (None, reduced, or full)

Step 1. Submit a withdrawal request.

You can withdraw from a bonding strategy in two ways:

  • Transfer — move funds to another EarnPark strategy or to the Wallet

  • External withdrawal — send funds to an external crypto wallet

Choose the source strategy, the destination, and the amount, then confirm.

Step 2. Confirm the request via email or 2FA.

The bonding period starts the moment you confirm. The transfer confirmation window shows the bonding period, the cancellation window, the destination, and the receive amount.

Step 4. Funds are locked.

During the bonding period:

  • The locked amount is shown separately in your portfolio

  • You can still create additional bonding requests on the same strategy. Each one has its own lock period and execution date.

Step 5. Cancel the request (optional).

Within the cancellation window, you can cancel the request from the Latest Requests tab. Funds go back to the active position and continue earning. Once the cancellation window closes, the request can no longer be cancelled.

Step 6. Withdrawal is processed.

Withdrawals are processed daily at 12:00 UTC. Once the full bonding period has passed since confirmation, the request is executed in the next daily batch.
